The challenge
SDL’s mobile estate was directly managed through a major network provider, but they lacked control over services and faced inefficiencies. With multiple locations and varying user requirements across the country, SDL needed a comprehensive review of their mobile setup to find a more cost-effective and efficient solution.
The solution
We began by analysing SDL’s existing mobile contract and usage reports from the past three months. This allowed us to identify significant cost-saving opportunities and tailor a plan that would suit SDL’s long-term needs. Understanding that SDL’s users were spread across different regions, we implemented a phased migration plan to ensure a smooth transition without disrupting day-to-day operations.
Over just four days, we successfully migrated 214 mobile connections, cutting ties with their previous provider. During the process, we discovered an additional account with the existing supplier, and within a week, we managed to transfer those connections as well. Our flexibility and consultancy allowed SDL to review their usage and optimise their mobile estate, phasing out redundant connections to reduce unnecessary costs.
