The challenge faced.
Keith Pattinson Estate Agency faced a pressing need for an estate-wide upgrade of their broadband services. Their existing infrastructure, based on ageing analogue broadband connections, was becoming increasingly unreliable and unable
to meet the demands of their growing business. With key software applications migrating to the cloud, it was clear that the legacy system lacked the necessary bandwidth and stability to support modern, cloud-based operations, creating
challenges with day-to-day operations.
Keith Pattinson required a future-proof, stable, and high-performance network solution that could ensure seamless operations across all branches, without
disrupting their service to clients.
Our solution
Global 4 recognised the opportunity to provide Keith Pattinson with a solution that would not only resolve their immediate concerns but also position them for future growth. We developed a project manager-led approach to overhaul their existing network infrastructure, ensuring the upgrade was handled with precision and minimal disruption.
Our technical refresh focused on both hardware and data services. By implementing Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) at the majority of branches and Single Order Generic Ethernet Access (SoGEA) at select locations, we provided significantly enhanced bandwidth, faster internet speeds, and greater resilience. The decision to integrate failover services at each branch meant that Keith Pattinson could now rely on continuous, uninterrupted connectivity—even in the event of network issues.
In addition to the broadband upgrade, we standardised the hardware used across all branches. This not only made network management more efficient but also simplified support and troubleshooting, reducing downtime and improving overall
operational efficiency, creating a future-ready platform that could scale as their business demands evolved.
The results
The broadband upgrade was successfully completed at 28 locations, delivering a significant boost in both bandwidth and stability of service. By transitioning from analogue to predominantly FTTP, Keith Pattinson now enjoys a more reliable
and faster internet experience, improving the efficiency of their cloud-based operations across all departments.
The project was carried out with cost in mind, with Global 4 able to maintain their current spend, utilising our strong supplier relationships. This meant that despite the extensive upgrades, the financial impact on Keith Pattinson
was minimal, aligning with their budgetary requirements. The uniform hardware setup has also streamlined ongoing support and maintenance efforts, allowing their IT teams to manage the network more effectively.
